On Thursday 18 September President Trump said he was banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House; NPR carried it at 16:15 UTC and The Guardian, BBC, CNBC and The Hill followed within hours. On Friday morning the three outlets said their journalists had been denied access, and NPR, The Hill, CNBC and the BBC reported reporters blocked at the gate. The Hill reported the outlets' responses and that Fox News contributors denounced the ban.
